Dermaplaning at Cary MedSpa
Dermaplaning is the technical term for facial shaving and is one of the newest, most effective trends in skincare. The procedure is a mechanical (physical) exfoliation using a sterile scalpel to shave the surface of the skin. This removes layers of dead skin cells and “peach fuzz” hairs, helping to keep pores clean.
Dermaplaning is recommended for all skin types and is more effective than most other mechanical exfoliation methods. Dead skin cells and hairs that build up on the face can cause skin to appear dull, flaky and may cause acne if pores become clogged.
Dermaplaning also stimulates the cell regeneration process. There’s no downtime at all, and products/moisturizers are absorbed more quickly and effectively. Makeup appears smoother and goes on easier. Dermaplaning can also help diminish signs of aging, such as discoloration and fine lines and wrinkles.
Dermaplaning is painless and suitable for all skin types.
Dermaplaning in not dangerous but should not be performed on eczema, psoriasis, or active lesions.
Can be combined with other rejuvenation treatments such as a facial or microneedling or done as a 3 step treatment of dermaplaning, micropeel and cryogenic therapy.
Will my hair grow back thicker/darker? No, the hair that grows back will be the same thickness as the hair you once had on your face.
How often can I have a Dermaplaning treatment? Every 4-6 weeks.
